Just add a pair of Shimano Bar-end or Down-tube shifters for a super quick and responsive system that cares little about the conditions and will provide seasons of serviceable use. Simple to set up and super easy to live with. All parts are replaceable and a complete re-build can be accomplished in as little as 15 minutes. Welcome back the golden age of serviceability!
Retroshift is built to be durable not dainty but still comes in at a respectable 388 grams when built up with Down-tube shifters. That’s 50 grams lighter than Ultegra 6700. So go ahead give your STI a break from the elements and keep them in tip top shape for the road and beat the snot out of a pair of ours instead.
