Retroshift was started with a single idea scratched onto a napkin, later transferred to graphing paper and eventually given to a local machine shop to fabricate.

The idea started with an individual,  but now has become an idea shared by a community of cyclist. Indeed without the input of talented frame builders and engineers like Mark Dinucci and pro racers like Erik Tonkin it would not be all that it is today.  With race feedback from CX riders (Beginner to Pro), the insight of shop mechanics and the help of a talented and capable machine shop Retroshift has taken shape to become a truly superb new shifting system.

Retroshift, LLC is located in Portland, OR where on any given week of CX season as many as 1500 plus riders will bunch up at the start lines of the local races to enjoy the wonderful wet and muddy climate we proudly call our home.

We hope you will take a good look at Retroshift and are confident that when you ride it you will experience a little of that same joy you felt the first time you rode a bike.  The feeling of unexpected delight.
